I was very disappointed with AutoStar. When I talked to Patrick Malley he was so nice. I explained how last year I went through another company and had problems with price changes and slow delivery. He swore this would not happen again. Well, it did. On the 2nd day of my 3 day window he called and told me he couldn't find a driver for the amount that was quoted to me. Leaving me between a rock and a hard place. I either paid the extra $75 or I didn't have a way to get my car to CT. I signed a contract with the prices on it, but it seems to only protect the transport company. I agreed and it took another 4 days for them to get someone to pick up my car and that was after I called every day. The driver said I would have my car in 4 or 5 days. It took 7 days. I would not have them again except that unfortunately I booked the return trip with a deposit.

We are very sorry for any convenience the additional charges caused, but to be fair, Mrs Dube was warned well in advance that prices could change with the shifting cost of diesel. She placed the order 3 months in advance and was told at that time that prices are subject to change. Unfortunately we cannot control the price of diesel and market fluctuations. We actually covered 75% of the cost increase ourselves to keep the price within her budget, and called her 2 weeks in advance to advise her of the price shift. At that time, we also gave her the option of a full refund if she wanted to go with another company. She said she understood and opted to leave the order in place and pay the $75. We are sorry for the circumstances surrounding Mrs Dube's transport, but at no time was she misled or "caught between a rock and hard place."
