Colorado to Hawaii shipment

I was rather worried about shipping my car to Hawaii (origin from Colorado), and contacted three different companies, one of which was autostar transport. Although they weren't ranked #1, they had the best price, best cusomer service (Diego S., specifically), and was straight forward with answering all my questions/concerns. Diego S. was extremely courteous, professional, and patient. He guided me through the entire process, alleviated my concern, and did not overpromise. My car arrived to Honolulu about 2 weeks after it was originally picked up. The only glitch throughout the entire process was that customer service forgot to call me for a 3-way transaction with Matson (the carrier from Long Beach, Ca to Honolulu, HI); the contract stated that they were going to do this, so I was waiting for the call. Instead, the guy who picked up my car in Fort Collins, Co (he was really professionall; totally recommend him) called me and told me that Matson was not accepting my car because I had not paid the portion from mainland to Honolulu. I asked him to give me 15 minutes while I frantically called Matson, but could not get anyone on the line (it's really, really hard to give a live person on the line), so called Authostar, and a customer service representative finally did the 3-way connection with Matson. It was really a good thing I was around and available when the Fort Collins transport guy called me; otherwise, who knew what would have happened. The only second glitch was that soon afterwards, I called Matson directly to ask when my car was being shipped to Honolulu. They said August 6th (2 1/2 weeks after it was picked up!), to which I exclaimed, "oh my gosh, that's a long time," so the representative changed the date to July 30th instead Recommendation: don't necessarly think Autostar will make sure your car will be on the first available shipment, so do call Matson and talk to a representative there.
