I can't recommend Jerry and his company highly enough. I live in Michigan, and over the Holidays a friend in California offered me his 9 month old Prius. But there was a very short window of time during which I could get the car, as he was using it until Friday December 30th and had nowhere to store it after Thursday January 5th. I considered flying out there and driving it back myself, but the costs of a last-minute flight, gasoline, food and lodging would have been prohibitive - not to mention the time I'd have to take away from my business and family. So I started researching transport companies on the internet - and was shocked by some of the "horror stories" out there! I came across this site and only requested quotes from the companies that had the best reviews, and later took the additional step of searching the web for essentially everything that had ever been posted about each one.

I ended up with a deluge of e-mail and phone calls - most very clearly from pushy call-center types. Jerry appeared to be the only one who had direct "hands-on" experience, and was able to provide clear, concise, honest information about the process. We didn't connect with each other until Wednesday December 28th, and he let me know right up front that with only a week's lead time he might not be able to find a transporter at the original price he quoted, or at all, but vowed to make his best effort if I chose to select him. He told me exactly what was posted on the board at the time for the route (make and model of the cars, price offered, etc) and suggested that he start at the originally quoted price and move upward only if he deemed it absolutely necessary. He didn't charge me any up-front fee, with the agreement that I would pay him only after the car was actually loaded on a truck.

He called me back early on January 2nd and told me he had found a transporter who could pick up the car that day or the next; that it would likely be loaded on the top tier of the truck; and that the car should be delivered to me by January 8th. The price was fairly close to the original estimate, and we handled the paperwork by e-mail.

My friend was contacted almost immediately by the transporter, and they arranged a pick up for the next day. He called me afterward and told me that the driver had been very professional; that the two of them had documented every minor nick and scratch on the vehicle, and that it had indeed been loaded on the top tier.

I was contacted by the transporter on Friday the 6th and asked if the car could be delivered between noon and six the next day (a day early). They called back several times on Saturday with progress updates. The only minor glitch came when the driver realized my condo was on a narrow, winding road - and he asked if I could meet him in the parking lot of a drugstore a few blocks away instead. He was very professional and courteous, and we reviewed the inspection report on the car together before I signed off on the delivery.

As I said up front, it was an excellent experience, and I would HIGHLY recommend Auto Shipping TLC.
