I submitted a request for an online quote and received one almost immediately. I also called the company on Saturday (great that they have weekend hours!) and had a clear understanding of the process and costs (~$1500 from DC to San Francisco) and a request for a shipper was posted within 10 minutes. Malia McClain handled my order and on Monday morning, I was contacted by the shipper and had the vehicle loaded by early-afternoon. That ensured that the vehicle would arrive in California around the same time that I do.

The benefit to shipping from DC is that it is a busy hub. Unfortunately, due to DC regulations, the shipper cannot load the vehicle inside city limits. That wouldn't have affected my decisions, but would have been nice to know prior to receiving the call from the shipper to arrange a pick-up. Fortunately, there are convenient places for pick-up/drop-off near outlying metro stations and it was no hassle.
