I did an online quote search and Around The Globe Auto had the lowest price. I should have known something was wrong right then because it was $200 to $300 lower than what everyone else was quoting, however there seemed to be good reviews about them. I put in the order on October 19. The first woman I spoke to was very pleasant and explained there would also be a $500 gas card included. She assured me everything would be fine and 'my stress would stop and hers would start,' in those exact words. After a week passed and I hadn't heard anything, I called them and they said they were still looking for a driver. I got the runaround day after day. They said a driver would be in the area on Friday...Friday came and went. I called Monday and they said they would get one by the end of the day since the drivers usually loaded up on Mondays...Monday came and went. This went on for a month. By November 16th the car hadn't even been picked up yet. My registration was about to expire in Nevada so I was starting to call them twice a day. They finally called me back and said they found a driver but instead of paying the remaining $455 cash on delivery (minus the $190 they withdrew from my acct on Oct 16), he would not take less than $890. So the total cost would be $1040 instead of the $645 I was quoted. I cancelled my order with them because I was so frustrated with them giving me the run-a-round that I called another company. THIS company didn't take a deposit UNTIL they found a driver. They found a driver within 48 hours and my car was shipped right on time. I used Speedy Auto Transport. Around the globe underquotes you to get business then at the last minute they increase the price, and pathetically reply in a robot voice that it says 'the price may be subject to change' in the contract. Yes, I understand that, but by $440??
I have since tried to get a refund for the deposit. And suprise! I am getting the run-a-round again. The girl in charge of the refunds assured me it would be credited to my account in 7-10 business days. That came and went. I called and she said there was a 'glitch' in the computer. How convenient. I told her to forget the computer because I don't want another 'glitch' to happen and to just mail me a check. She said she would take care of the matter 'personally,' and I should get the check in 7 days. Guess what? 12 days have gone by. No check. If you use this company, don't say you haven't been warned. They make the experience so horrific that you'll wish you had just flown to where your car is and driven it back yourself.
