This transporter signed a contract with me to ship an automobile across country. After missing the target pick up date by two days I phoned them and they said the car would be picked up the next day. Wrong, as each day went by I phoned them and they finally picked up the vehicle the day before I left the state.
This company subcontracted the move with CAVINESS AUTO CARRIERS (I think they go by BlueBonnet as well). The transporter made me meet him 10 miles from my home and then would not inspect the vehicle stating that it was too dirty. The car had just been washed two days prior to pick up.
The car was received 3 days after the promised delivery date at 11pm, 3 miles from my home. The car was filthy, covered in some kind of wax. The driver said that they must have run the trailer through the car wash in Texas (why they felt they needed to take a side trip to Texas, I'll never know) and that all the wax must not have been rinsed off. I took the car to a car wash the next day and found out why the wax was there, it hid dents, dings and scratches the carrier inflicted on this one-year old car. I phoned Aries and they told me my problem was with Caviness and not them. I phoned Caviness and they agreed to send an adjuster out to look at the damage. After waiting a week, I complained to the BBB who told me that they couldn't do anything to help. I found out that the driver of my shipment was fired and that another car on the same delivery was damaged as well. I filed a lawsuit after waiting six months for these crooks to pay for the damage. I won the suit hands down as I provided photos and eyewitness testimony from three people. The subcontractor still hasn't paid the judgement and is in violation of California Law. I notified Aries, and they could care less and stated that they will continue to subcontract jobs to Caviness and that it's my fault for accepting delivery of the cars without noting damage. I have explained many times to them that the damage was hidden by darkness and this wax but they state that this is not their problem.
Don't trust this company with your vehicle. They will not pick it up when they promise, they will not deliver it when they promise and they will outsource your job to the most unscrupulous people in the business. Folks transporting cars should also know that there isn't a single government agency in this country that will come to bat for them when this kind of fraudulent business activity has been perpetrated on them. Buyer beware!
