I chose Angels because 1) of their very high rating here, 2) they committed to work very hard (although not guarantee) to meet my one day pickup window, and 3) they chose an almost local to me (Darlington, SC) trucking company. I thought I might be in trouble when the trucking company was changed a few days before pickup, but that apprehension was not justified. The new company, D.R. Auto Transport, and the driver, Kris, exceeded any realistic expectations for frequency of communications and timeliness and convenience of the transport. The car was picked up in Livermore, CA @ 0930 on Friday morning, and delivered in Aiken, SC @ 1930 on Tuesday. For my convenience, I chose to meet the driver at a truckstop near my home, since my daughter and I were driving directly past it on the way home from the Atlanta airport. The car arrived unscathed, even though it was placed on the top of the carrier because its a convertible. The entire experience with Angels and their trucking company, D.R. Auto Transport, was without surprise and throughly acceptable. I have 3 recommendations for anyone needing to transport a car across the country:
1) Get over the request for a deposit ($200, in my case) - its just a way for the Broker to have confidence that you're serious about doing the job
2) Don't expect a clean car - driving across country on an open transport will get the car dirty, even if it doesn't rain - get out a bucket of soap and water and get over it.
3) Use Angels Transporting Autos - they are straightforward, honest, communicate effectively and often, and perform an excellent job.
