Poor all around

As an intermediary this company does only one thing correctly, choose reasonable drivers to sub out the work to. I had the following issues throughout the proces:


Qoute vs Actual cost: I was originally quoted $550 at the start then after a week to two weeks I received a contact call from Violet telling me that the cheapest that drivers are willing to accept was $675. As a shifting business, it may be understandable that a 25-50$ variance occurs between a quote and actual cost; however $125 is just unacceptable. As the intermediary, it is the responsibility of this company to come up with a realistic quote!!

Dishonesty on the part of Ameristar: When working with Violet, despite her being very polite and respectful, there was some sly actions on the company's part. During negotiations, I had explicitly requested that the firm check with their pricing department if they could come down to $650 but instead of asking and looking to try and please the consumer, I was sent a contract for $675. Now the $25 difference, while not that much, meant something as they ignored my request and directly sent me a contract as if I had accepted the price, which was not the case. In the future when dealing with this company make sure they follow your requests. In the end, rather than prolong the already arduous process I accepted the extra cost.

Communication: This is perhaps the worst part of dealing with Ameristar, they completely limit their availability through restrictive hours. FURTHER, they are only responsive prior to getting paid but not after. When looking to receive payment the company was extremely responsive through email and many phone calls!! To the point of badgering me to correct some billing issue they came across.

However, after receiving my deposit and cash, they ignored my requests for assistance in contacting the Driver. Further, when I called in to request a status update on where the car was at that point in time, the customer service rep. told me directly that she would call the driver and determine the cars location. I have yet to receive any call, apology, or comment on the request.

All in all, I would advise to stay away from using this company as your shipping agent, they were horrendous to deal with.

A side note is that the actual driver was extremely accommodating!!! It was the only redeeming thing about the whole experience.
