WOW - I had listed my vehicle for transport with a different carrier before ACAM. They were reputable (BBB), had a great price, and I have no complaints. However, I had never shipped a vehicle before and did not know how the system worked. After no successful shipment after 3 or 4 weeks, I became a little distraught and decided to look to another carrier. This is when I came across the reviews here. I got quotes from the high ranking companies, and ACAM's was the most reasonable.
After speaking with Anne (thanks) and explaining my situation, she did the thing that the other company failed to do - let me know how the system worked, as well as tell me how ACAM works the system.
In a nutshell - she explained that if a car isn't moving, there's probably an issue with the price, and the ante should be upped a little. The other company never let me in on that. Sure, they had a $350 3 day pickup surcharge I could see, but that seemed a little steep and no other option was given. Secondly, Anne said that the carrier's rapport with the transporters has a good deal to how quickly a vehicle gets picked up. That made sense to me, because if a carrier attracts flakey customers, the transporters have more trouble picking up, delivering, and getting paid. Hence a transporter would be less likely to take a lower delivery fee when they know they're bound to have trouble int the transaction that will cost them additional time and maybe expense.
The long and short of it was - The day after my vehicle was listed with ACAM I got a call that a shipper would be picking it up. It was delivered ahead of schedule without any issues. Sure it was more than the bargian I started with, but well worth the $175 difference in pricing. Nothing short of Amazing.
Thanks for your help Anne. Had my vehicle not been picked up right away, ACAM has a standard plan in place to make it more attractive for transporters to pick up. They are actively involved in getting your vehicle shipped.
