I purchased a near mint condition rare 86' Mercedes-Benz 190e 2.3-16 from a shop up in NY a few months ago. American Auto Pride (American Pride Autoride) happened to be the cheapest from the dozen I reviewed. For $275 they would ship it door to door insured. I thought, "wow, what a bargain!". They promise a '10 day window' to have your car scheduled out. The order was sent out 10/27. After about a week, I emailed them. No response. I called them, but the woman didn't have a clue who was going to ship my car or when. So I gave them four more days to do the basics of just scheduling my car to be shipped. On the 11th day, I emailed them early in the morning. On the 12th day, still no response. I called them again, got the same answer from the same person of basically 'we have no idea who's going to transfer your car and when'. After 16 days, I emailed them. Two days later, still no response. I began looking online to see wtf was the problem and if anyone else experienced poor service. To my eyes I discovered the 2 out of 5 stars for a rating, or a 40% approval rating, an 'F'. I was Pissed!! Basically these guys are pulling a bait and run scam where they'll take your deposit, sit on it for weeks, and will either hope you quit trying and go some place else, get denied a refund, or breach contract.

AFTER 3 weeks (almost 2 weeks out of their scheduling window) and after they failed to contact me through any of my 3 emails, I called them only to find out my car was shipped. They never contacted me to let me know it was picked up. They did call, however, to let me know they couldn't ship my car to my doorstep because it's on a semi. That is false advertising. Clearly if the car is shipped on a semi, then it can't be a doorstep to doorstep shipment. I had to drive half an hour to a large parking lot to pick up the car with another person to drive it back with tags from another car. The doorstep to doorstep plan was to avoid the possibility of getting a suspended license, impounded car, and a heavy fine.

When the car arrived, I discovered numerous small scratches, dings, dents, grease splotches on the front bumper and a FILTHY driver's side interior. The driver evidently had some seriously dirty boots and had no problem trashing a mint interior. The car alarm under the hood was stolen and the headunit damaged. There were zero problems with the car prior to shipping. Either way I can't sue because of the agreement and the car's being repainted soon anyways.

Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THESE GUYS unless you want serious headaches!!!
