I originally decided to go with another carrier (broker.) If you know anything about the way this business works, you know that most of the work is handled by brokers. Some brokers have their own trucks. I'm assuming that most do not. The broker "lists" the job and places the price the customer is willing to pay on what I am assuming is an electronic (internet) board. Truckers will decide if they are willing to accept the "load" based on price, route, etc. As I stated, I originally signed up with another broker. That broker agreed to not to accept my deposit (his fee) until the vehicle was picked up. There are some brokers that will do this. Most will not, fearing that they will not be paid. I asked the first broker to keep me up-to-date and informed as I wanted to know exactly what was going on with the move. He failed to do so. I also suspect that he did not put the price we agreed upon for transport on the board correctly. This will have the impact of putting more money in the broker’s pocket, less in the trucker's, and delaying your pick up as the rate will not be attractive for the trucker. I called the first company and complained when it became obvious that my vehicle was not being picked up on a day when he told me it would. I was lied to when they told me the truck broke down. I knew that was a lie as no one even contacted the seller to arrange pick up of my vehicle. Luckily, that day I had received an email quote from American Dream Transport. The price of the move was less than the broker I was dealing with so I gave them a call. I spoke with Jim and explained my dilemma. Jim, at first, was reluctant to act without a deposit and had concerns that I had already booked with another broker. I explained what had occurred and told him I was really stuck. He informed me that his "boss" would call me back within fifteen minutes. Bonnie called me back within that time frame. Bonnie is a very honest and scrupulous broker. She explained that she could not take the job as it was already booked by another broker. I told her that I would call the other broker and cancel our agreement (which he actually broke.) I called and had the listing removed. Within a couple of days, my transport was booked and arrived as promised.
I cannot say enough about American Dream Transport. PLEASE do not even consider another company. This company will not only get the job done, they will keep you up-to-date on the entire move and follow up afterward to ensure your complete satisfaction. There are probably a lot of companies like them; however, I WOULDN'T take a chance. Thanks Bonnie and Jim for relieving me of a great deal of stress and coming through with flying colors!!!!!!!
