I decided to go with American Car Transportation since they gave me a pretty good price and said that I could pay using credit card which was important since I was short on cash at the time. I wanted my car to arrive at least a week before I started work so that I had plenty of time to deal with registration and licensing at the DMV. I spoke with Brian and he picked a date that would get the vehicle to its destination in the appropriate time frame. I put down a deposit a month before I wanted to ship the car, but once I did this, his level of communication practically disappeared. I called Brian everyday for a week leading up to the move and only got through to him once. I left him several voicemails and he never returned any of my calls to find out if they had found a driver. Finally, after the move was already 3 days late, I called the main office directly and spoke to another representative who said that the company should have already foundd a driver. Luckily he put a note in the system and my car was picked up 2 days later.
The only positive part of this experience is the fact that my car actually arrived. I was quoted a price of $850 with a $50 charge to use credit card for a total of $900. Once the driver came, he informed me that the cost was $800 and he couldn't accept credit card. This was in addition to the $200 deposit I put down, so in total, I paid $1000. I will never use this company ever again.
