As this was my first time shipping my car, I thought the overall experience was very good/good, and was an exceedingly FAST car delivery. My only comments pertain to the scheduling of the car pick-up and payment upon delivery. Regarding payment upon delivery to the carrier, there was a discrepancy with the payee information from AmeriFreight (as per their email) and the carrier who picked-up/delievered my car. I suspect that the carrier may have been a sub-contracted carrier to the carrier that was in contact with AmeriFreight. At the end of the day, the carrier accepted our cashier's check, but it was somewhat confusing. Regarding the car scheduling, it took 3 attempts to successfully confirm my car pick-up. My advice to other newbies out there is to provide a contact number where you will be available 24/7 (eg, cell phone) and expect to be ready (sometimes within 2 hours of scheduling pick-up). In my case, I received 2 voice messages and called back the following day (1st voice message) and within the hour (2nd voice message) and lost both carriers. In the second attempt, I specifically spoke to Red at the dispatch office and it seemed as though we were good-to-go and I rushed home from work to wait for the carrier, but they didn't come. When I called back to check the status of the car carrier, I spoke to Red again and she indicated that the carrier was no longer available but did not call back to let me know. I was a little annoyed but my fingers were crossed that the 3rd atempt would be more successful and it was thankfully. In my experience there seemed to be daily opportunities for my particular route (from NJ to CA) which worked out fine in the long run, but it took several attempts to successfully schedule my car for pick-up. I guess it makes some sense as AmeriFreight is a broker and are working to match cars with available carriers in the area and you are competing with other potential available cars so if you don't act fast, you are very likely to loose the opportunity with an available carrier.
