My sister willed her car to a friend in California and it fell to me to arrange the shipping. I contacted two brokerage companies with good reputations. Both promptly produced competitive offers, priced at quite a bit less than I expected. AmeriFreight's was a bit better so I contracted with them. The driver was courteous and made the pickup easy. Once the cars are loaded, the trucks are very tall and cannot risk damage to the cars from overhead tree branches, so pickup and delivery to houses is often not possible. But the driver parked on a nearby main road and contacted me. I drove there in the car, picked him up, and drove back to my house with him to drop me off. He took it from there. At the destination, the friend reported a similar good experience, and the car arrived undamaged. I had never shipped a car before, and I'm glad it was this easy, as well as inexpensive.
