We contracted through Amerifreight and they have been responsive and supportive. They arranged the shipment with First Trucking in Denver, CO who in turn contracted the driver. The truck had 1000 miles on it and was in new condition when it was put on the trailer. At pickup, the battery was drained (had to get a new one thought we didn't include this in the damage quote) and the bumper had an imprint of the license plate from another car embedded on it. We got quotes from recommended sources in our area. We filed a claim with the driver's insurance company. The driver had a $1000 deductible and the claim was $850 so the insurance company turned it down. We are told the driver doesn't have the money to fix it and First Trucking wants us to give the driver our truck back so he can have his body shop friend fix it for less. All of this has taken two and a half months so far. We do not want to turn the truck back over to them and we are not sure we should trust whoever this body shop friend is. We have now called our insurance company and should get a call back in a couple of days with some recommendations on what to do from here.
