I chose AmeriFreight because of the positive reviews and quotes vs. actual payments for shipping vehicles. I also checked on delivery between states. I solicited several other companies and received four replies including AmeriFreight. One company was very critical of AmeriFreight. I gave AmeriFreight seven days from the time I made my deposit to the first available date (18 August) to arrange collection. I should have simply said, the truck was available immediately. On 19 August I emailed AmeriFreight and asked for an update. I was told AmeriFreight was looking for a carrier. Two days later, I emailed again and was told a carrier hadn't been found but was expected information that day. Later in the day, I was advised the new price was $1765 vs. $950. I asked why and was told there were few carriers available and over 50 were contacted. At this point, due to my own schedule, I was left with an option of taking the price or waiting (until when?). I elected to pay the extra amount which caused consternation in our home. i was given a number to call and it was the wrong number. I was given another number to call and made arrangements. From this point on it was a simple process. Bottom line, I am not sure if I would use AmeriFreight again. I will be more judicious if this comes up again.
