Having never shipped a vehicle the entire premise was daunting to me. The vehicle was in a state I had never been to, and was being dropped off at my home when I was out of town on business making the logistics somewhat hectic. I first initiated contact with several other brokers who all either gave me an uneasy feeling or through further research I was able to uncover criminal pasts. The quote I had received via email from Amerifreight was somewhat higher than the other shippers but I was unable to find many negative reviews anywhere on the web so I decided to give Jorge a shot. He was able to find a truck one day after I submitted my request which was substantially quicker than he had told me to expect (the vehicle was located in rural Louisiana away from an interstate).
The trucking company did bid higher price than we had originally requested ($800 as opposed to $600 on top of Amerifreight's $250 charge) but I was willing to accept that because I needed to get the vehicle moved from auction. Once I accepted the offer Jorge immediately sent me over the information I needed to contact the trucker (Stateline Auto Transport out of Western NC) and make arrangements. The vehicle was picked up later than initially proposed however this was no Amerifreight's responsibility and the vehicle ended up being dropped off early anyway.
Communication with Jorge was no longer or more frequent than it needed to be while still getting all of the necessary information across. He seemed to have a better understanding of the challenge of arranging shipping for a vehicle in a poor location and was upfront about the likelihood of a cost increase. The increase in cost did not benefit Amerifreight but rather the trucking company, Amerifreight received the same deposit as they would have otherwise. I would use Amerifreight's services again if I was ever put into a similar bind where i was unable to transport the vehicle myself.
