Shortly after purchasing a new car, I found out I would be moving across the county from Washington State to Washington DC and I had to figure out a way to get my car out there. After doing some reviews, I choose Amerifreight because of the positive reviews and because they were on the BBB and had a good rating.
Good: After requesting a quote, I received an email right away. My contact person was Jessica and she got a hold of me right away. Within a couple days there was a transport vehicle available to pick up my car that night or the next morning. I decided to go with it. The carrier (Safe Transporters) delivered my car within the time frame quoted. He couldn't get to my house because of the roads, but he was only a mile away and offered to drive my car to me if I would be able to drive him back. The other option was to go to him. His offer to drive to me was really kind and made it easier for me because I didn't have to get anyone else to help.
No so good: I felt that Jessica could have explained the process to me on how Amerifreight operates. It felt like she assumed I knew how it worked. I'd never needed to transport a car before, so my only knowledge was based on the reviews I had read. After saying that yes I would go with the carrier, I never heard from her again. I received an email telling me who the transporter was and how to contact them. The email said that I was to initiate the communication with the transporter, but the only number I was given was a number to contact if I wanted to know where my car was. Two days after I expected that my car was to be picked up I found out it wasn't from my friend who had the car, but that they were coming that night. I had no idea my car was even close the day I got the call that they would be dropping it off.
Overall: I received my car in the time frame promised (7-10 days) and it was in the same condition I left it in (other than being dirty from travelling 2500 miles). I would use this company again if I didn't want the hassle of finding my own carrier. I wish the communication had been more explanative.
