When I was looking for a Mover to move my car from NY to TX , I did stumble upon many carriers but after reading some of the reviews on this site, I decided to take a look at Amerifreight.
My requirements were to get the cheapest rate to ship my car as I was very very flexible and not time bound .
Amerifreight offered me about 4 packages from which I picked up the economy saver ....I thought I just had to wait for a longer time which I was ready to , but I spoke to Graham about the package I chose and he upfront told me that there was only 40% chance of my car be picked up at 600$. I wanted to take a chance as I was not In a hurry for the car. But all the prospective clients have to know that these low rates are sometimes too good to be true which was the case In my case. 600$ was tooo good to be true. But Graham was In touch pretty regularly and he told me that the carriers were asking way more than 600$. I wanted to wait, but after a week or so I Increased my price by 100$ couple of times. After this ordeal went on for a month, I finally gave up and paid the highest price of the 4 packages which was 1000$. So I had paid the market price but waited almost 1 month for the car to be picked up.
So the 4 packages that they offer was to me of no use. You WILL eventually pay the highest price of the 4 packages. The Economy saver or the other low price packages are only for prospective clients to jump onto their ship and wait wait wait and finally give up and pay the market rate eventually.
Pros:
1) Pretty straight forward about the prices and chances of getting picked up @ that price.
2) Excellent customer service.
3) Had no Issues with the carrier who had picked up my car. Pick up & delivery ON TIME.
4) I had some stuff In the car and the carrier allowed me to keep It and didn`t make a big fuss about it.
Cons:
1) Don`t know how they arrive at the lowest prices(Which are tooo good to be true).
2) Prices are NOT cheap, but not too expensive...On par with the market rates.
3) Lowest prices are only a way to make jump onto their ship and nothing else.
