After mulling over quotes and reviews for over a week I was sufficiently convinced that Amerifrieght offered the best chance for a price/service balance and in the end my instincts were right. I had read so many nightmare stories related to shipping vehicles that I had actually considered just flying up to Ohio and driving the vehicle down to Florida myself which would have been unsavory on my budget, time, and vehicle wear and tear.
Part of my fear in choosing my shipper was due to the common practice of taking a deposit before a carrier is actually found. I feared being held hostage by my deposit if shipping did not take place and AmeriFreight worked with me to mitigate this by not collecting a deposit until a carrier had been found.
Graham was easy to work with and set reasonable expectations of when my vehicle would be shipped based on the rate we were offering the carrier. Surprisingly we found a carrier within two Business days and they were picking up the vehicle two days later. My Vintage 1974 VW BUS ended up arriving a whole two days earlier than promissed which was a pleasant surprise.
The carrier contracted to deliver my vehicle was Advance Auto Transport and both Tammy, my contact person, and Tim my driver were courteous and professional. My Van was without damage and as stated earlier arrived two days early.
I would definetely use both Amerifreight and Advance Auto Transport again and would recommend them to anyone wishing to have a hassle free experience.
