I was very happy with the way things went. After the initial automated bid I got from this site, I went to the Amerifreight web site and got a firm quote (which was a bit higher) and a contact person.
I gave her a phone call, and she explained the options they offer. It was all openly explained and they emailed me written descriptions of how they set up a shipment. I went with the cheapest option, the "stand-by" which was not guaranteed to get a shipper. But they called me back the same day and had someone who could make the pickup in 2 days. Amerifreight takes a deposit (for me $215) in advance via credit card, and the shipper is paid the rest (in this case $550) on delivery. Everything went as promised. The car actually arrived 2 days early. The shipper called a day in advance and again an hour before he arrived. The driver was very courteous and parked the car in our driveway. All's well that end's well.
