After reading all the reviews of the brokers, I knew I wanted to go directly to the shipper itself
so there would be more accountability. I found Ace Auto Trans by reading lots of reviews of other carriers. The woman who was the dispatcher and handles all the customer service was "E-K" and she was just terrific. She told me once the car is in our hands," you don't worry about it any longer."
And she was so right. They picked up the car from my mother's house on a Friday night in Orange County, CA on a flat bed truck to take it back to their yard where it left that night for the East Coast on the big hauler truck. Their office is not open on the weekend so I didn't know until I got an email from them on Monday morning that the truck was on its way and was expected to be in Arlington,VA on Wednesday. WOW! That was super fast when the original time was thought to be 7-10 days. My brother who received the car said that it was perfect, just a little dirty from the XC trip.
I am not surprised as I am sure it went through a ton of bad weather.

Acts of God that are not covered by the transporter's insurance. That includes hail, tornadoes,floods, etc.
There are GAP policies for that but a much cheaper and better way is to get as low a deductible as you can on the "Comprehensive" part of your car's insurance policy just for the trip. It cost about $6 from GEICO to get the lowest they would go -$100 deductible-for 2 weeks. That gave us peace of mind.
Ace Auto was superior in their customer service all around. I would definitely use them again!
