Initially received a quote for $515 (Sacramento, CA to Dallas, TX) and I read some on-line reviews. The quote was cancelled on 3-17-08 which was 19 days after I received the quote. I called numerous times to see what the status was and generally received the, "we're doing all we can." I increased my payment to the driver by $25 and then another $25 and still they could not find a way to get my car to TX. I talked to a Supervisor, Carmen, on Friday March 14th and explained to her that I wanted to get the car to TX. I said I would increase the payment, but talk to the driver first and then let me know. She said she would call me back by 5pm/end of day. Never received the call from her. I called on the status on Monday March 17th and they said that the driver they talked to, already had a full truck. Able said they would continue calling, but I told them I was cancelling the order.
Subsequent to this, I called another transporter the same day and received the car in Dallas on Monday, March 24th. The new transporter cost me more money, but I was willing to increase my payment on the Able quote as I could see that diesel prices were increasing and that the driver needed to be compensated.
I found this website after the fact and am now not amazed at how poorly Able has been reviewed. Based upon my experience, they would receive a thumbs down from me and I will not use them in the future nor recommend them to anyone I know.
