Truck Broke Down Never Delivered My Vehicle

I hired AAA Allstate Transport to locate an auto transportaion company for me. They located Ed Cannon Tractor Service out of Ocala Florida to transport my 1993 Jeep from Omaha Nebraska to Wenatchee Washington for $950.They billed me $150 for locating the driver and truck.

Ed Cannon was courteous and prompt in picking up my vehcile. He notified me by cell phone when he was in the vicinity and arrived promptly and loaded the vehicle without any issues at 2:30 pm on July 14, 2008.

On Thursday night July 17, 2008 he telephoned my daughter stating that his truck was broken down but she shouldn't worry about it becasue he would deliver the vehicle as soon as his truck was repaired.

The repair wasn't completed promptly and when I called him to find out where my car was located he wouldn't tell me. I contacted the police and an officer came to my house and telephoned Mr. Cannon and located the towing yard in Idaho where my vehicle was stored.

I paid Mr. Cannon a reduced fee of $825 for getting as far as Idaho and hired a towing firm for $750 to haul the vehicle the rest of tthe way to Wenatchee.

AAA Allstate personnel were sympathic but I believe they should screen the truck drivers and their equipment. And, while they called the driver for me and tried to find out information helpful to me, I felt that they should have arranged alternate transportation for my vehicle and not left it up to me to deal with the issues involved in trying to locate my auto and move it the rest of the way to Wenatchee.

If you are moving a vehicle, make sure you understand that you are on your own and have to solve your own problems or issues with the driver of the truck. You will be responsible for arranging alternative transport if he cannot deliver the vehicle.

When I called AAA Allstate to tell them I had the vehicle delivered by a towing firm they told me that Ed Cannon told them his truck would be fixed the week of August 11-15.

He should have rented a truck and delivered the vehicle immediately to my daughter as the contract required.
