After reading reviews on this site as well as talking to several transport brokers, I settled on AAAl States because they seemed to have the fewest negative reviews and most of the negative reviews were really the fault of the carrier, not AAAL States. AAAl States quote was in the middle of the range of quotes I received, which I took as an indication that they were neither lowballing or gouging. I also got a fairly good vibe when I spoke to PJ on the phone. Last but not least, I really liked the fact that they did not charge a deposit until a pick up was arranged.

AAAL States staff was always courteous and contacted me promptly when transport had been arranged. We the car had not been picked up after a week or so, PJ dipped a few dollars into his own commission to improve the chances of the car getting picked up.

It took a while for the car to be picked up, but PJ was honest that this might be the case since it was inoperative. The actual carrier was Diesel Express. The drivers name was Gabriel and he was outstanding. When he arrived to pick up the car, the emergency brake was stuck. Gabriel waited for the seller of the car to come home to help move it. He was also very easy to deal with when he dropped off the car.

Overall, both AAAl States and Diesel Express performed very well. If you are considering having a car moved, please educate yourself on how the process works. You will be dealing with a broker who will find a carrier to actually move your car. The nature of the business makes arranging an auto transport a bit of a crap shoot, but I had a good experience with AAAl States and would Diesel Express and would recommend them both.
