Sad but True

Oh, how I wanted to write a good review. And I would have, if I could have. I used AAA Anytime Inc. to move the bright yellow 2005 MINI cooper S that I bought on-line from a dealer in Naples, Florida, to my home in Seattle Washington. (No, I probbably could not have bought one any further away.) I chose Anytime Inc., because they seemed to have the fewest number of poor reviews, and they seemed to respond to them fairly. Initial contact went well. Rich returned my call on Sat. Feb 6th, and we arranged transport. I paid the $400. deposit with a credit card, then saw the contract. Pretty basic stuff, no promises on time or anything else. Still, I was assured that getting my car to Seattle in time for my vacation on Feb 25 would certainly not be a problem. I was told that Anytime Inc. would pick up the car at the dealers on Thursday, Feb. 11. The driver did call the dealer that day and reschedule for Saturday, Feb 13th, due to weather in Washington DC area. Still fine with that. Saturday came and went, they had said between 1 and 3, the dealer stayed until 7 PM, no call, no pickup.
I called them on Monday, Feb. 15th, they had an excuse about the car loaded prior to mine being to big to allow mine on the trailer, and said they would pick up mine on Thursday, Feb. 18th. Again, no call. I'm getting a bit nervous. The dealer recieved a call late Thursday, apparently the driver had taken a wrong turn and was now driving down the East coast of Florida, while my car was waiting on the West Coast. GPS anyone? But, they did pick up the car on Friday, Feb. 19th. They said that they would deliver it in Seattle on Tues or Wed. the 24th.
This car WAS the reason for the vacation, a 4 day road trip to visit friends in a new little car, and the 25th through the 28th were the only possible days. I was now very nervous about getting my car in time. Apparently Anytime means just that.
I called on Tuesday to check status. Bad news, the truck was broken down in Georgia. Goodbye, vacation.
My car arrived in Seattle on Friday, Feb 26th. almost three weeks from the initial contact. The company that actually did the transport, that was contracted by AAA Anytime, did discount my bill by $200.
Like I said, sad but true. Today, however, I have my car and am very happy. Perhaps if they had stayed more in contact with myself or the dealer, I could have written a more positive review.
