CAR DAMAGED DURING TRANSPORT...

...but that's not the half of it. After washing my car the day after it arrived, I noticed a slight variation in sheen on two spots on my roof. The car was filthy- a nice top layer of dust and dirt- I didn't think too much about it since it just travelled coast to coast in an open carrier. Turns out the two spots were from dents that had been patched, sanded and spray painted silver to match the color of my car! Not only was my car damaged, but the carrier tried to hide the damage so that I wouldn't notice it at the drop-off inspection. I have filed a claim with the carrier's insurance- hopefully they will cover the repairs. I have also written a letter of complaint to AA-Automovers and have NOT received a response from them- not even an apology. One of their sales pitches is that they carry a secondary insurance just in case the carrier's insurance doesn't cover all the damages that occur during transport. I'm not holding my breath. Judging from all the other bad reviews for this company, they are going to wash their hands of this problem and pawn it off as the carrier's fault. In my opinion, I would highly suggest giving your business to a company that has its own drivers so there is more accountability if something goes wrong. From my experience with AA-Automovers, they'll take your booking fee and run with the money leaving you at the mercy of the carrier- if you are lucky you'll get one that knows what they are doing and hopefully not pull a fast one if your car is damaged.

All carrier insurance policies require proof that damage occurred during transit. This is to protect the carrier and the customer against fraud - you know - trying to get a pre-existing damage paid for by a carrier’s insurance. All Melinda has to do is contact the carrier’s insurance (which we have provided to her) and follow the process. She has been advised on how to proceed. She was advised prior to booking an order with us as to vehicle inspection reports and their importance. Customers do not have the right to turn us into pond scum because insurance companies have regulations!
