We were trying to get a truck delivered from PA to CA. We requested quotes for various different brokerage companies and each one was contacted directly to find the very best one. Our first choice was A Across USA because they SEEMED friendly enough and SEEMED willing to get the job done. Ryan made promises that the truck would be picked up within the week and delivered 7 to 10 days later. However, after a week, I started calling each day to get a status report. It was at this time, that Ryan did not want to help, other than to tell me that the truck has not been placed yet. That is all that he would tell me. He became rude and was extremely unhelpful. After two weeks, I started looking for a different company and requested a refund of my deposit because I felt I was getting no where with these guys. They were rude and did not deliver on the promises that were made to get my business. They say on their website that they are always willing to answer any questions with helpful and friendly customer service. Don't fall for that one, they just make verbal guarantees but they cannot deliver. It took me less than a day to find another brokerage company that was more than willing to do the work to find a carrier for my truck. Swift Auto Shippers placed the truck with a delivery company in 1 day and I had the truck 6 days later. I would highly recommend you keep looking and not use A Across USA.

When a customer asks to place an order, the following is included with the order form: THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND SUGGESTIONS SHOULD BE HELPFUL IN MAKING YOUR AUTO TRANSPORT TROUBLE-FREE. 1. Try to give at least 2 weeks advance notice for pickup. (The more notice we have the easier it will be to schedule a spot for your vehicle.) 2. Try to give us at least a 3 day window to pick up your vehicle. (This means that your vehicle should be available for a 3 day time period.) It doesn’t mean that you have to stay home for 3 days. THIS WINDOW IS NOT GUARANTEED. Please have an alternate person to release you vehicle should there be a delay. You will be notified ahead of time by the driver or dispatcher as to which day. If you need the vehicle until right before you leave, we suggest you leave it with a neighbor, friend or relative in the area, to be picked up after you leave. 3. Unfortunately, as with every form of transportation, we have to deal with various uncontrollable situations (such as bad weather, breakdowns, traffic, sickness, etc.) which affects the pickup window and delivery estimates. However, we try to keep on schedule whenever possible. We suggest that you have an alternate person to release or receive your vehicle should this occur. 4. If for any reason we are unable to schedule your vehicle, any monies that we have received are fully refundable. However, we will continue to schedule it until we are advised otherwise. 5. If your vehicle cannot deliver until a certain date, this must be indicated on the order or there will be additional fees if we have to reschedule it. 6. We try to schedule all vehicles within 7 days, but unfortunately can not guarantee any specific time frame. It seems that Mr.Cushman didn't bother to read this. We move 95% of our orders within 7 days. Unfortunately, as with all brokers there are occasions for various reasons that vehicles may take longer to schedule. Mr.Cushman placed the order on 1/7/08 and cancelled on 1/16/08. That's just over a week that we had the order. We refunded his deposit immediately when he cancelled. As Mr.Cushman exaggerated about the timeframe, you can be sure the rest of the complaint is also exaggerated. If we can't move a car, we refund the entire deposit. We try to give the customer a good rate and on occasion may be a little too low to attract a carrier. We quoted $850 for his move and were unable to schedule. The broker that Mr.Cushman used charged $1240. Obviously, any broker could have moved it in one day at that rate. Jack, Manager Across USA Auto Transport
