1. After I sent out a request of e-mail for transporting my car from NJ to AZ, the first e-mail which I got, is not a sales type e-mail, it is an e-mail tells me what to watch out when you choose a shipping car trasportation Co.
2. The Company should NOT ask for Deposit, because there is a chance after you paid the deposit to a company, you will not hear from them again.
3. The Company should be rated highly by BBB AND the American Auto Transport Consortium.
4. 1Flat-Rate LLC is the first Co. called me only 10 minutes after I sent out my auto transport Request on the Web.
That person did Not ask me to pay any down payment and he also told me that 1Flat-Rate LLC is rated highly by BBB and the American Auto Transport Consortium. He told me for Express Service, i.e., within 5 days, the cost is $1100, which is a little be higher compare with the other car shipping company. Because from my previous experiences, I should be able to find a qoute between $900 and $1000. If I am willing to pay the deposit first, but my previous two auto transport did not need express services.
I checked BBB, which rates 1Flat Rate LLC "A", and I checked the other web site, they also rate 1Falt-Ratellc highly.
5. I told him that I needed the Express service 1-5 days. He said that he will look into the possibility. That person is very polite and honest, did not promise me everything on the spot, like most sales people One hour latter he called me back that they can Guarantee to pick up my car within 5 days, i.e., the day before I would leave NJ to fly back to AZ. I did tried to bargain the price , because by that time another Co. gave me a quote at $1020, but needs deposite. I failed to bargain the cost dowm, so it is still $1100.
6. The next Day the saeles person told me the exact date when they will pick up my car, which is 2 days before I would leave NJ. By that time, I got so many phone calls and e-mails, all the other qoutes were less than $1100, but all ask me to pay deposit. There is only another Co. which did not ask for deposite, but the rate is $1120 . I did not even bother to check other companies' rating because I already "signed" a contract with 1Falt Rate by that time.
7. The Truck and the Driver did show up the date which 1Falt-Rate promised me, but it was 2 hours late, which is not too bad.
The driver told me that I should get the car on Sunday 7/10/2011, but I did not get my car until 8PM on 7/12/2011, which is 2 days late.
My car did not get damaged, and it is relatively clean. Also, the truck parked only within 500 feet from my house, which is much better than my year of 2007 experience. That truck parked 4 miles away from my house, because I just arrived in AZ about a week, I am not even sure where the truck was and my car was extremely dusty (and it was also 2 days late), that Co. did ask for deposit but it only charged me about $900 ( not an Express Service and that was 4 years ago).
The driver from 1Fal- Rate is very professional and polite, not like the driver from my 2007 experience.
Overall, I am happy with 1Falt Rate LLC's service, but my wife still complianed that why I didi not take those quotes only in the $900's but required deposit.
I told her that this time the Co. has to be reliable that the Co. will definitely pick up my car before I would leave NJ. So, it was a different situations for past two car transport, which I do not need express services.
I am an Physicist, I prefer to be 100% safe (i.e., my car got picked up before I left N.J.) and better serve than to save $100.
If my friends asked me to recomment an Express service, I will recommend 1Falt Rate, LLC, because they are very professional, can be trusted, even they deliver 2 days later than they promised. I expect it will be only 1 day late, becuase the driver said that he needed to pick up two more cars and will not leave East Coast until Wed., how can he arrived in AZ from East Coast in 4 days , including dropping and picked up other cars along the way.
Well, the whole thing is over and I do not complain.
