I had never had the need for an auto transport, so I didn't know what kind of experience I would end up with. I found this service on Angie's List with an excellent review from last year. I spoke to Fletcher, the auto transport broker, who walked me through the process honestly and clearly. I decided to trust him with the payment of a $225 brokerage fee for securing me a fair and reputable moving bid. The bid was on the low side of the range of transport rates Fletcher estimated the bid would be. Fletcher suggested that we arrange the car pick up to be over the George Washington Bridge in New Jersey rather than in NYC like I assumed we would use as a pick up site. He explained that the cost for the transport vehicle to cross the bridege and back again would add an extra $100 to my cost. I appreciated the heads up advise and followed his recommendation. Unfortunately there was a delay in the transporter arriving from Philadelphia so my daughter waited nearly 2 hours at the waiting spot. When I called Fletcher with my concern, he called the transporter company and received the updated arrival time. The problem was Friday weekend traffic. It would have be nice if we had been advised that the transporter was going to be later than forecasted so my daughter could have waited at home. Next time I will be sure to get the driver's cell phone nuymber to keep tabs on the arrival time for the pick up. My daughter said that the driver was professional and took good care in loading our car. Fletcher was told that the car would probably arrive on Thursday of the next week. As it turned out the driver arrived on Wednesday morning and we made an easy connection, delivery, and payment. Our car was in exactly the same condition it was in as it was when it was picked up. All in all it was a very good experience!
