This review should help those first time auto-shippers out there. Bottom line, my Jeep Liberty made it from Arizona to Virginia faster than expected and with no damage. Also, AmeriFreight gave me the lowest quote ($1295) among five other transport companies and that was what I actually paid. That best price as well AmeriFreight being BBB rated A+ sealed the deal for me.

Now, the process. I did a lot of research online and maintained a healthy skepticism throughout. I called AmeriFreight after I received my quote, gave them an "available date" for my vehicle as well as necessary details. They sent me an e-mail with a few attachments. These include order info, gap insurance coverage, MARC and contract. MARC gives AmeriFreight permission to negotiate a greater amount than your initial quote to secure a carrier. I picked this as an option because my shipment was time sensitive, but my rep was able to find a carrier for the original quoted price. Once a carrier was found, my rep called to verify that I wanted to move forward then charged me a security deposit. At this point I was given contact info for the carrier, Geo Tiger Inc. Realize that from here to delivery you deal with the carrier directly. Geo Tiger picked up my vehicle a day after my available date and delivered cross-country in four days without any problems. When the truck driver dropped the vehicle off my father-in-law paid the difference in the total (quote minus security deposit) with cashier's check.

A couple things you should know. Read contract carefully, I asked rep if I could schedule pickup on a specific day because the following day I was driving a UHaul cross-country. He said it shouldn't be a problem. But after reading AmeriFreight's contract I realized there were different shipping rates based on how big your pick-up window is. It took a few e-mails and a phone call before I settled on an earlier available date to make sure my car left before I moved. My rep didn't seem wholly interested in my concerns...sorry buddy, I was a first timer! Also, Geo Tiger is either Russian run or just hires a few of them. Their company contact and driver were hard to understand.

Again, bottom line is my car got from point A to B in the same condition for a good price. Thanks to Nick and Geo Tiger for the good work, and to AmeriFreight for being patient with me. Overall great job.
