STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE HONESTY & INTEGRITY!

On 2/22/14 I decided to go with American Auto Transport after being given a fair price by Angela to ship 2 vehicles; However, before I could move forward Angela insisted I contact Mercury Auto Transporters to take my vehicles off the board which is something obviously everyone uses and has access to when viewing prospective vehicles to transport. Angela quoted me $2300 for 2 vehicles which was $400 less than the prior company that indicated they had a driver available immediately. Angela assured me that the price was guaranteed and that the vehicles would be picked up Wednesday, Thursday at the latest. Angela also indicated they have their own carriers so they don't have to wait for other carriers to agree to a price. She really was convincing! I called the representative at Mercury and he explained that American Auto Transport doesn't have a driver that can transport your vehicle for $2300 and he went on to explain that they were offering me that attractive rate only to gain my business and they probably would call in a couple days with a higher price. I'm thinking what does this guy know. Anyway after contacting Angela at American Auto Transport she again assured me that they could get it done for the quoted price and went on to share some negative things about Mercury Auto in an attempt to gain my business. At this point I was kind of on the fence regarding a decision, but money being an issue I chose the $400 savings. I called Mercury Auto and insisted they take me off the board explaining I was going with the better price option. On Wednesday I tried to follow up with Angela regarding the pick up time, but I only got a voice mail. I finally spoke to someone in their customer service department who confirmed the order and reiterated that I would hear from someone soon regarding pick up. Wednesday passed and no one called about picking up my vehicle. I'm thinking they'll call in the morning and everything will work out. Boy was I wrong! I called and had to leave a message with customer service considering neither Angela or their customer service number was being answered. I finally received a call from someone by the name of Tom indicating they found a carrier, but wouldn't be able to pick up until Friday with a delivery date of August 2nd. Tom also indicated that this would cost me an additional $400 dollars. I asked Tom why do they straight lie to their customers about pricing and he simply commented that the price would be $2700 and would I like to proceed. I explained that the gentleman at Mercury Auto warned me about this happening. I don't appreciated being lied to in order to gain my business. Now I've lost time and money in car rental fees considering my vehicles could have been shipped on Tuesday resulting in less time I'll have to rent. I wanted to save money only to turn around and be offered the same price. All this after being continuously told they could definitely ship my vehicles for a lower price.
