I shipped a car to my daughter, who is in college, from NJ to AZ. Here is her e-mail to me:

The delivery driver person was curt and rude. He demanded that I'd be available at 12:00, but I had class at that time. He then said he didn't have time to give me the car and I should have been available when he got there. He continued to say he couldn't wait for me and will drop off the car somewhere in Tucson?! He said someone from his company would then deliver the car at 5:30pm to me. He gave me another number to call.

I called the second number around 5:15pm and left a message. A man called me back around 5:30pm and said the car was at his house and that the original driver (Manuel) was long gone. He insisted that I come to his house to pick up the car and bring cash!? I said the whole point of this was to bring me my car - I couldn't get to him without a car, nor was I going to someone's house I didn't know, and I insisted that we meet at my building, as prescribed in the original agreement. He then said, "Take a taxi. I'm not driving the car. You come get it." I said that was out of the question. I told him Manuel said someone from his company would deliver the car at 5:30, and after a heated conversation with this dude, he finally agreed to deliver the car. He arrived about at 9:45pm, hours late from the time he said he would, and then we had to wait for his wife, whom he said was bringing the paperwork.

He could not stand still or walk straight. He had a can of some kind of a drink in his hand, and he was definitely not sober. I got a receipt (a crinkled carbon copy of a form which was presumably signed at the beginning of the car's voyage). The car smells like cigarettes, and there was no gas in the tank. There was 3/4 of gas in a tank when they picked up the car!! This means the car was driven at least 150 miles since it was picked up. Unacceptable!! The guys name is Walid Abdul. This is the worst customer experience ever.

While we are happy your car was picked up and delivered on time in perfect condition. We are sorry we did not meet or beat your expectations. The carriers do there best to accommodate everyone's schedule. Sincerely , Management
