I needed to transfer a 1962 Mercury from Maryland to North Carolina and used the services of AmeriFreight to find a carrier for the move. I was contacted by Lecia over the phone, she was very easy to work with. This was good, because I had time constraints for pickup that were really difficult to meet. There was a short time window where I would be available to meet the driver for the pickup and this made things really hard. Lecia would call me to let me know that there was a time available and driver ready, just for me to say that I was not available - I felt bad because she was all over it and had drivers at the ready and I kept on not being ready. But, on the fourth try my schedule lined up with a transporter, Lecia had the time booked within minutes and the whole thing went off without a hitch!
Remember, AmeriFreight is a broker, they do not move the vehicles themselves but rather they line up transporter to do the actual move. Its a tough job... they have both customers and transporters coming to them from both ends for any tiny issue and they have to come up with very quick solutions. Its hard to keep everyone happy, especially since they are stuck in the middle. In my move there were no issues whatsoever, it just worked. And - yes, they offer a discount if you post a review. But realize that most people only post a review when there is an actual problem or issue - if things good smoothly people will most likely never post anything for feedback. So the reviews tend to be just the complainers and people who have had a bad experience - the good experiences do not get vetted. So I see no problem in giving a discount, this works as an incentive to have good experiences posted along with the bad.
