I contracted with Montway to ship a near mint condition vehicle from NC to CA. First, you should be aware that they are a broker. They don't disguise this, but for those that don't do this a lot - you should realize they don't control pickup or drop off dates. They are referring you to a shipper for a finders fee. So, you may wish to find a shipper that actually does the shipping.

The most egregious issue for me was the fact that after I had made payment and given them a credit card, they referred the transport and after the car had been picked up, they then sent me a request to sign a contract with terms and conditions that limit my liability and recourse should something go wrong - they did this AFTER they had my car hostage. At best, this is a very bad mistake. At worst, it is deceptive business practice. I would expect any honest business to disclose terms up front. My own customers would never accept this.

Second - when I paid them and finalized everything (except for the surprise contract mentioned above), they told me it would be from 1 hour to 2 days until my vehicle was assigned to an actual transport company. 3 days later, I called them and then mysteriously they remembered my order, and it was assigned within 3 hours. They knew I could cancel with no penalty, so perhaps this explained the urgency.

Third - and this is fairly minor - Montway gave me a 48h pick up window, and they missed it, instead showing up on the next day. This really inconvenienced the seller, who went into his business on labor day to wait for them.

We thank you for sharing you experience with us. Please know your feedback is taken very seriously. We welcome any recommendations that help to improve the quality of our services for our customers. We are completely transparent with our policies of trucker assignment and estimated days. We estimate assigning a carrier within 1 to 5 business days of the first available date the vehicle is ready for pickup. Even though our estimations are highly accurate, just over 95%, we still inform customers we can only provide estimated dates. We want our customers to be clear on these terms so they can make any necessary personal arrangements. Our goal is to transport your vehicle, never to inconvenience our customers in any way. The customer placed his order with a first available pick up date of 8/31/2016. We assigned a driver on 9/2/2016 which was well within the 1-5 business days. Customer was sent the dispatch notification on 9/2 which gave the customer his estimated pickup and delivery dates. If customer did not like these dates he could have refused and we would have kept looking for another carrier. This is only an option in which the customer accepted. Carrier picked up the vehicle on 9/06/2016 and delivered on 9/14 which was the correct amount of transit time on this particular route. Montway most certainly apologizes for any inconveniences. We care about our customers and try to provide the best service possible. If there is anything else we can assist the customer with please let us know as we would be glad to help
