Wow! I interviewed a dozen or more transport companies when I needed to ship my daughter's new (2016 Audi) car to her California college from Illinois. For the most part the process involved each company trying to get an immediate commitment to use their services, some even required a credit card to simply 'process' my request for a quote and/or secure transportation. The amounts quoted varied considerably, by hundreds of dollars, and there seemed to be a tremendous amount of 'institutional secrecy" around the transport business. I also learned that the transport companies generally allow themselves a 10 - 14 day window on both ends of the service, i.e., they feel it is okay to pick you up 10 days later than the scheduled date and can also drop off the vehicle 10 or more days later than the scheduled date. When asked how there can be this much latitude in what looks to be a simple task, i.e., getting a vehicle from point A to point B, I was told only, "it's very complicated and unpredictable." At the risk of sounding macabre, I was reminded of the secrecy of the Funeral Industry, with it's sky-high costs, hidden charges, and the inability to find out what is really going on with those services.
Enter Kimberly Freiley and Auto Shipping Group. When I spoke with Ms. Freiley, she spent the first 15 minutes simply educating me to the process of transporting my car to California. She told me about the shared scheduling board transport companies use, how costs are determined, why there are limitations on how many personal possessions can be put in a car being transported, and a dozen other wonderfully useful facts about the transportation process. In short, I got a crash course on the transport biz and felt I could finally make an informed decision. With this information, it was an easy decision to go with Auto Shipping Group, because of the thoughtful help offered by Ms. Freiley. The result: My car was picked up exactly when it was scheduled to be picked up, dropped off exactly on schedule, and was delivered in perfect shape. I could not be more happy with Kim Freiley and Auto Shipping Group. I recommend them without reservation! Dr. Polonus
